Ice kills

Roads can be icy when it's above freezing because surface of the earth can cool more than the atmosphere above. So when the thermometer (at 5' off the ground) says above freezing, the ground might be below freezing.

We are now entering the core of the roadway icing season, and roadway ice kills more NW citizens than ANY other weather phenomena! Be afraid!!!! BOO!!!!!
