Why forecasts are wrong

Tiny differences in the offshore pressure flows can make a huge difference in NW weather.

To mitigate this, forecasters look at a lot of forecasts for one day and average them all together.

There's lots of snow in the mountains, still

400x more than usual. One good side-effect of our cold, wet spring.

Bottom line

Cooler than normal for the next week or so but then we may well enjoy a normal summer from that point on.

What the radiation from Fukushima is and is not causing

Radiation from Fukushima is not causing an uptick in infant mortality here in the NW. It IS causing an uptick in reDONK faux-science news articles.

This was the coldest spring ever. Today it will be warm. Tomorrow it will be even warmer, through Monday maybe.
